so far so goodJul 15, 2010 So far so good. I am taking 1000 mg. as per physican. I have been taking slo-niacin for 4 weeks now and no rash and very little flushing. I will not know for 45 days about my cholesterol.
Slo-NiacinJun 21, 2010 I've been on Niaspan for several years, then our insurance company changed the reimbursement so I switched to Slo-Niacin last year. Prior to going on Niaspan my HDL was below 30, after switching to Niaspan my HDL went to over 50. After switching to Slo-Niacin my HDL is still 56. My doctor does Liver tests on a regular basis and I have had no problems.
Great product without the prescription cost. They even look like the Niaspan tablets.
slo-naicinJun 17, 2010 great job delivered on time and easy ordering. just does not get better then this company.
Slo-NiacinJun 08, 2010 The purchase of the item was straight forward and the item arrived very promptly. It was packaged well and although I found after using that 500mg was too strong a dose it was quite easy to split into 250 mg tablets. Overall very satisfied.
Slo-Niacin 500 mgMay 29, 2010 I can't tell if this is a good product or not because I just began using it and the results won't be noticeable until I have my next blood test. This was recommended by my doctor to lower my LDL's.
However, be forewarned: when it says "causes flushing" this means flushing from your toes to your forehead and every inch of skin. I forgot about that and took them in the morning and then went out. Two hours later I felt warm and itchy and looked in the mirror and I was beat red from head to toe to fingertips. I thought I was having an allergic reaction albeit a rather strange one. I went to the emergency clinic in downtown Chicago and after numerous attempts to jolt my memory, the wonderful young woman doctor said to me for the fourth or fifth time "Think, did you take anything this morning like a pill?" Wham! That was the very first day I had taken the Slo-Niacin and I remembered reading about flushing. That was it. I would be fine. I was not going to die (although my throat didn't close up as it might have if it really were an allergic attack). An hour had passed since I first felt the flushing and it was starting to subside. I am now taking the pill at night before I go to bed. No problem at all since then.
